6. Eve Muirhead OBE

Eve Muirhead OBE is an Olympic curling champion from Perthshire who led the British Olympic Curling Team to a triumphant gold medal win in the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Growing up on the family farm in Blair Atholl, Eve was surrounded by curling champions, and she quickly showed an aptitude for the sport.

She began her competitive curling career in 2007 when she won gold in the World Junior Curling Championships in Minnesota. In 2014 she became the youngest skip ever to win an Olympic medal, taking home bronze in a victory against Switzerland.

Eve is also a talented golfer and won scholarships to two US universities, although she did not pursue these, choosing instead to stick with curling.

Eve was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to curling, and Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours.
