Be Inspired: Campsites and Caravans

FernleaTouring in Perth and Kinross

There are so many great ways to experience and explore Perthshire but one of the most exhilarating options has to be by touring caravan, motorhome, or camper van.

An old fashioned road trip through the hills, valleys and glens of our beautiful area will give you memories for years to come – with so many perfect selfie stops you’ll be spoiled for choice!

We’ve pulled together a whole host of campsite ideas, all of which offer pitches for touring caravans, with the majority also offering space and services for motorhomes and tent campers.

If you’d like to meet up with friends or family – or if you fancy a little extra space for a few days - you’ll also find that many have their own static caravans, luxury lodges and glamping pods to book.

Top Five Benefits of A Perthshire Road Trip

1.    Freedom and Convenience. Book into one of our touring campsites for one night, stay for three or use it as a base to explore the whole region. When your accommodation travels with you, the freedom is all yours.

2.    Visit A Multitude of Perth and Kinross Destinations.  With parks and sites the length and breadth of our stunning region, you can be in Kinross in the morning and Blair Atholl by night.

3.    Fully serviced parks with all the mod cons. Long gone are bumpy tracks and empty fields, nowadays our sites are fully equipped with all of the services and facilities you might tneed to make your home on wheels, a home from home.

4.    More Environmentally Sound Than Flying. Yes, those road trips chalk up miles but in an area that takes you from north to south in under 100 miles, your emissions are significantly fewer than that trip abroad.

5.    Budget to suit your pocket. We all know fuel is climbing, but with self-catering meal times and great rates on campsites you will find this is still one of the best budget holidays out there. Check out this great blog on saving fuel while you travel >

Plan Your Trip

Whether you’re coming for a day, a weekend or an extended holiday, there are lots of practical questions that you need to have answered when travelling by motor home or with your caravan. Where are the public toilets? Where can I park? Do the campsites welcome dogs? Are you wheelchair friendly?

Our visitor management page aims to answer all of these and more, helping you plan your stay and ensuring you have an enjoyable, safe and comfortable time in Perth city and towns.> www.perthcityandtowns.co.uk/blog/visitor-information-for-perth-city-and-town

From here, our Explore Outdoor map is a great starting point for planning your trip to Perthshire, as well as a handy reference while you’re here.
