Sportsman's Dinner at King James VI @ King James VI Golf Course

While North Inch may be known as the first place King James IV played golf, the course named after his descendent, King James VI, has the distinction of being the only self contained island course in the country. Founded in 1858 and moved to Moncrieffe Island in 1897, King James VI remains one of the oldest surviving golf clubs in the UK.

The course is accessible only by foot but also offers a unique view of the city of Perth on the other side of the River Tay, which you can catch glimpses of throw the tree lined fairways and bunkers. Like its neighbour on the nearby North Inch – perfect for a jam packed golf weekend – the city centre is within walking distance and makes for an ideal city break this Summer. Visitors are welcome to try out the full 18 hole course, then enjoy food and drink in the adjacent clubhouse.
