Perth Festival of the Arts

Each May, Perth Festival of the Arts becomes a highlight in Scotland’s cultural calendar. With performances in Perth Theatre, Perth Concert Hall and other venues, the Festival features the best in classical music, opera, theatre, rock, folk, jazz, comedy, literature, and visual art.

For May 2021, with lockdown just beginning to ease, the organisers have created a unique, online experience with 10 days of concerts broadcast from venues around Perth and a Drive-in Cinema at Scone Palace.

“Drive-ins have been one of few events allowed to take place last year and we’re hopeful that Perth & Kinross will be back in the right COVID level by May,” said Festival Director Helen MacKinnon.

“Households can enjoy the movie together in the comfort and safety of their own vehicle. We’ve mostly chosen films that are action-packed, uplifting and tell great stories across music, sci-fi, animation and comedy.

“It’s a great opportunity to enjoy your favourite films on the giant screen or take in a movie you haven’t seen before.”

Perth Theatre and Concert Hall

Horsecross Arts is the creative organisation set up in 2005 to run Perth Concert Hall and to refresh and reposition Perth Theatre, Scotland’s oldest repertory theatre company.

They are proud of their two wonderful, contrasting venues - the historic Edwardian theatre with its classic proscenium arch and the state of the art concert hall with some of the finest acoustics in Europe.

The multi award-winning team has earned a reputation for adventurous programming, unique commissions, critically acclaimed performances by world-class artists and inspirational community activities. They are at the heart of cultural life in Perthshire and their venues are a destination and a resource base for everyone.
