Free Festive Parking

Perth & Kinross Council provides safe and secure, short and long stay car parks and on-street parking in the city centre.  Over the month of December they offer Christmas shoppers the opportunity to park for free while they browse and shop in Perth city and the surrounding towns.

Free Parking in Perth, Perthshire and Kinross

15 minutes of free parking: All year round. 15 minutes of free parking. This only applies to Council-run car parks and on-street parking spaces. A valid ticket must be displayed and can be acquired free of charge by pressing the button on the parking machine.

For South Inch Car Park and Canal Street Multi-Storey Car Park, present the ticket at the exit barrier up to 15 minutes after entry.

Overnight & Sunday Free Parking: All year round. The Council’s car parks and on-street pay-and-display bays are free from Mon to Sat from 6pm to 8am and all day Sun.

Additional Free Festive Parking: Free Festive Parking will run every Saturday in December  - 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th - in Council-run car parks only.  This means parking is free all weekend throughout December. Please note, unlike 15 minutes free, overnights and Sundays; Free For Festive does not apply to on-street car parking nor does it apply to any of the Live Active Leisure car parks which are currently branded PKC.

How to be sure: The pay machines in the carparks which are free, will be covered on Friday nights from 6pm and will be lifted off again in time for payments being made on Monday morning.
