Over the course of the past few years, the district has managed to secure a reputation as the go-to region in Scotland for adrenaline junkies, outdoor adventurers and everyone eager to take a walk on the wild side, with some of the most highly rated and qualified instructors in the field at your disposal
As part of this year’s Winter Festival we are looking for bakers of all abilities from beginners to professionals to help create a giant edible map of Perth and Kinross. Groups or individuals are being asked to pick their favourite building or place within Perth and Kinross and recreate it in cake form. These will then feature on a giant edible map of the region which will be skillfully created by Cake Fest Head Baker Simon Preston. Baking teams will be guided by Simon every step of the way and there’s no charge to take part.
The Black Watch Museum in Balhousie Castle in Perth is a must for anyone interested in military history. The museum has been situated in the castle since the early 1960’s, and it is packed with historical artifacts from this proud old regiment.
Nominated earlier this year for the Best UK Knitting Show/Event 2017/18 in the prestigious British Knitting and Crochet Awards, Perth Festival of Yarn returns to it’s home, the Dewars Centre, Perth, on 8 and 9 September for its third annual celebration.
