Parking in Perth
There’s a wide range of safe and secure, short stay car parks within the city centre. If you wish to stay all day, follow the signs for South Inch, Kinnoull Street, Thimble Row or Canal Street car parks. These car parks are a short walk from the High Street.
From Saturday, November 19 the Council’s multi-storey car park on Canal Street will once again be open to members of the public. The car park has been closed since September 26th to allow for a £1.7m refurbishment to further improve the parking offering in Perth.
Kinnoull Street multi-storey car park is open until midnight, Monday – Sunday. Canal Street multi-storey car park is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Many of Perth’s car parks have been awarded “Park Mark” safety status. The scheme is designed to reduce crime and the fear of crime in car parks. Look out for the “Park Mark” signs at car parks.
Free 15 minute parking
Perth is the first city to recognise the ‘click and collect’ culture and has introduced a 15 minute free parking policy. This only applies to Council-run car parks and on-street parking spaces. A valid ticket must be displayed and can be acquired free of charge by pressing the button on the parking machine.
