Platform 2018 is a contemporary art festival celebrating the best of Perth and Kinross’s artists, makers and creative industries. In its second year, Platform will gives you a week of exhibitions, performance, music, talks and workshops to choose from in over 18 venues across Perth and Kinross. The festival encourages artists and audiences to push their creative boundaries through collaboration, participation and trying something different. Exhibitions Visual art, photography, installations and contemporary design from Perthshire Open Studios, Perthshire Visual Arts Forum and students of Perth College UHI, Su Grierson, Aileen Stackhouse, Open Art Society, John Wills and photography from Silver Alchemy Collective and Amy Moran.
Music and performance Emotionally gripping songs from former Scottish Album of the year winner RM Hubbert and a showcase best of the Scottish contemporary folk scene, curated by Sean McLaughlin of Dante.
Experimental sounds and performance from Perth-based arts collective Open Up, featuring Polish band Parampampam Trio. Pop-up performances in and around Perthshire from Acoustic Music Workshop, Earnsong Community Choir and Jim Mackintosh. Create and participate Uncover your own creative talents with a series of artist-led workshops from jewellery making to photography.
