Doors Open Days is Scotland’s largest free festival that celebrates heritage and the built environment, new and old. Every September it offers you the opportunity to explore hundreds of fascinating buildings not normally open to the public and all completely free.
Doors Open Days in Perth and Kinross is organised by geographical areas:
Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th: Highland and Eastern Perthshire
Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd: Strathearn and Kinross-shire
Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th: Perth City
In celebration of the Scottish theme ‘Year of Young People’, Perth and Kinross has a special ‘Back to School’ feature with centres of learning and education from the past (that have been put to new uses), the present and future (currently under construction) opening their doors as part of the programme. Festival goers can follow the theme across all three of Perth and Kinross’s Doors Open Days weekends, appreciating the architecture of education – past, present and future – there’s even an accompanying competition!
