Come and join us for our annual Geography Day, which this year has the theme of images! Specifically, films, photos and funny animals…!
On the day, which lasts from 11am – 4pm, there will be talks from guest speakers, insights from the RSGS Collections Team and the chance to view some of the best images from the wonderful Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards 2018. Refreshments and lunch is included in the ticket price.

It’s big, bright and brimming with stars, Perth’s Christmas Light’s Switch On is this year’s must-see festive celebration with a fantastic line-up of sensational acts making their way to Fair City to kick-start the season’s glorious Winter Festival.
Taking you from afternoon into evening, Perth’s Christmas Light’s Switch-On has something for everyone – stages, entertainment-packed streets and an array of tasty treats and street food await you as we prepare to countdown to Christmas 2019.
Join a beautiful lantern-lit procession through Perth City Centre, ending with the unveiling of the Perth Christmas Nativity Scene outside St John’s Kirk. A great way to celebrate your local community this festive season. Daytime workshops are held to create the lanterns all ready for this short parade. The celebration of Christmas continues with carol singing and bell ringing.
6.30 Childrens Parade and 7.15 Fireworks at the Boulevard with the Midnight Falambeaux Parade. Each Hogmanay as midnight is announced by the bells of Big Ben the Flambeaux are lit. The torches, consisting of long thick birch poles with tarred rags tightly bound to the tops, are paraded around the village proceeded by the pipe band and followed by a fancy dress parade
