Perth Theatre: Prince Charming @ Perth Theatre
Apr 19 @ 10:30 am
Perth Theatre: Prince Charming @ Perth Theatre | Scotland | United Kingdom

Fine today … can’t get out of bed tomorrow. That was three months ago. I’ve been in these pants ever since.

It’s a lot of pressure being Prince Charming. There’s all those dragons to fight and kingdoms to save, not to mention being charming all the time. It’s enough to make anyone a little worried.

Holed up in his bed, Prince Charming is making a list of his worries – from being struck by lightning or getting stuck in quicksand to the problem of his unfortunate name. Somebody needs to come to our Prince’s rescue.

This new musical is funny, endearing and suitable for anyone who’s ever felt a bit anxious.

Age guidance: 6+

Approx running time: 1hr

£7.50; no concessions

Schools performances and prices available – contact our Box Office on 01738 621031 for more information.

She has worked for Save The Rhino Trust in Namibia, the National Museums of Kenya and Save The Elephants and whilst working in the Samburu National Reserve she was approached by the BBC. The rest, as they say, is television history!

In A Sma Room @ Perth Theatre

The Monday Night Thing presents

To coincide with the first Soutar Festival Of Words, In A Sma Room celebrates the poems of William Soutar through original music written by Debra Salem, Kevin Mackenzie and Paul Harrison. These settings reflect the wide musical backgrounds of the composers with elements of jazz, folk and classical music sitting side-by-side with the English and Scots lyrics. Originally commissioned in 2012 by the Friends of William Soutar, these songs formed part of a touring music and theatre piece. This evening will include some hitherto unheard songs, all of which will be featured on a forthcoming album. The composers are joined by Perth fiddler, Patsy Reid who was part of the original ensemble, plus guests.

Elaine Miller and the Menopause Festival present

Laugh – don’t leak!

A shocking 1 in 3 women and 1 in 9 men wet themselves. Leaking is common and most cases of stress incontinence can be cured. Get your festival comedy fix by witnessing the joy that is Elaine Miller’s Gusset Grippers – a stand up comedy show that brings pelvic floor health to the masses. You’ll leave this thoroughly entertaining show knowing what a pelvic floor is, what it does, why having a good one is smashing and where to take yours if it is a bit broken.

Elaine Miller is a physiotherapist, comedian, mother of three giant headed children and a recovered incontinent. She did the obvious thing and combined all of those to create Gusset Grippers

Gusset Grippers is Elaine’s contribution to breaking down the taboos which surround incontinence and sexual dysfunctions, the first fringe show to improve orgasms for both men and women, and that’s scientifically proven!

Jenna Reid And Harris Playfair With Mr McFall's Chamber @ Perth Theatre

The Monday Night Thing presents

One of Shetland’s finest and most accomplished fiddlers, Jenna Reid is joined by long-time accompanist Harris Playfair, and the genre-defying string ensemble Mr McFall’s Chamber in a sumptuous double-bill of musical mastery.

Released in early 2019, Working Hands is Reid’s fourth studio album, featuring predominantly original compositions, inspired by lessons she took with Robert McFall, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra’s second violinist and leader of the revered ensemble bearing his name. Such was the connection and influence, many of the featured compositions are dedicated to the quartet and individual musicians – who not only went on to feature on the album, but now join her on tour.

Jenna will also be reunited with one of Scotland’s most highly regarded traditional pianists, Harris Playfair – an electric pairing, brilliantly captured on her five-star Live in Shetland record – offering a selection of traditional material, ahead of joining the McFall’s ensemble.
Six pairs of working hands, whose owners approach that work with enthusiasm and sheer love of the craft of making music.
