PACE (Perth Anti Crime Exclusions)

Initiative Aim
To make Perth City Centre a safe and secure environment where people can live, work and socialise without the fear of becoming a victim of crime.

Introduction
A significant proportion of crime and disorder takes place in our city centres. This initiative will work in reducing city centre crime within business premises and within the city centre area.

It will:
  • Collate and circulate crime linked information, including photographs of known offenders
  • Provide immediate police backup via radiolink (if applicable)
  • Serve exclusion notices on persistent criminals from all business premises within the initiative
  • Provide staff training and advice on security and crime reduction
  • Provide information and guidance in accordance with relevant legislation
  • Provide every registered business within the initiative with regular bulletins and newsletters giving updated information on crime affecting our city centre

Benefits for Customers

Members display a PACE sticker (ban from one - ban from all) in the window or door of the premises, this shows the customer:
  • the store is actively involved in reducing the opportunities for crime within their premises
  • the store is aware of identifiable active criminals and refuses entry to persistent criminals

There are 100 member premises within Perth city centre and by working together persistent offenders can be excluded from large areas of Perth city centre.

40 member premises are also members of a radiolink scheme which links with local police officers and Perth city centre CCTV staff. They will also display a PACE sticker (radiolink) in their door or window.

City centre businesses are working together with Perth City Centre Management and Police to ensure you have a great day out in Perth with the knowledge of the PACE safety initiative in place.
